• Four Costa Rican companies that have the Kosher certification required by the Israeli market participate in this trade show, from July 2 to July 16, with the support of PROCOMER.
San Jose, July 7, 2020. To promote Costa Rica’s exportable offer of the food industry and show the Israeli market that Costa Rica has companies that meet the highest standards they demand, the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) organized a virtual trade mission, from July 2 to 16, with buyers from the city of Tel Aviv.
The Costa Rican products with high added value and Kosher certification promoted during the event include roasted coffee, banana puree, cocktail mixes, snacks, fruit flours, vegetables, tubers, and frozen and canned fruits.
During the trade mission, held on the Microsoft Teams platform, the four participating Costa Rican companies will be able to carry out one-on-one meetings with 17 buyers from Israel as well as have the opportunity to obtain market access information and price surveys.
The Minister of Foreign Trade and President of the Board of Directors of PROCOMER, Dyalá Jiménez, acknowledges that this new digital normality has been a challenge, but it has also provided us with a valuable opportunity to become more agile in business. “The pandemic has taught us several lessons so far and one of them is the we need to be innovative. We have to figure out how to do things differently, and how to add value to our offer, while taking advantage of digital platforms to show the world that behind each product or service we send abroad, there is quality, innovation, freshness, health and many attributes that are the hallmark of Costa Rica, ” she explained.
Alberto Céspedes, Commercial Director of Paradise Ingredients, added that “the trade mission to Israel opens a huge door of trade opportunities, thanks to excellent fieldwork by the commercial office in the region, proper planning and the excellent execution of virtual meetings. The trade mission is a tremendous contribution to our objectives of market diversification, as Israel was one of our priorities for 2020 ”.
For PROCOMER, it is strategic to continue promoting this type of virtual activities because they allow exporters to position the country and its products in international markets, enter new markets and maintain budding business relationships as well as those already established.
Of the Costa Rican exports to the Middle East, Israel ranked first in 2019, with 28% of total exports, followed by Saudi Arabia with 22%.
