In order to provide Costa Rican exporters with information to help them successfully negotiate with international buyers, the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) has organized, under the framework of the Buyers Trade Mission (BTM), a group of forums designed to explore global retail trends and global value chains.
Both spaces have scheduled specialized conferences and a panel discussion with both local and international participants. The forums will be held on Tuesday, September 17, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Wyndham Herradura Hotel.
According to Pedro Beirute Prada, General Manager at PROCOMER, the tools and services offered by the Promoter allow Costa Rican entrepreneurs to acquire knowledge and develop export capabilities, both considered key aspects to stand out at a negotiating table and in international markets.
“PROCOMER has defined innovation as one of the core concepts of our institutional strategy over the next four years, hence our interest in fostering spaces to share knowledge, where exporters find the motivation and inspiration needed to think about their products, and exporting, beyond the box,” added Beirute.
The program for the Retail Experience Forum includes talks on global retail trends, focusing on Central America, automated traceability, a conference on the food of the future, a panel on the impact of global trends on retail channel providers and a conference on transformation.
Participants in this forum include the renowned Dr Irwin Adam, from Singularity University; Gabriel Jens, Gabriel Jens, General Director of EuroGroup, a representative of Rewe Supermarkets in Germany; Pablo Alonso, Director of Private and Exclusive Brands at Supermercados Peruanos and Sonia Luna, Latin American Division Coordinator at Mercadona.
As for the Global Value Chains Forum, it includes the presentation of ICU Medical and GraceKennedy success stories as well as a panel discussion on the challenges of entering global value chains.
The Promoter primarily encourages the participation of entrepreneurs who are already registered and participating in the BTM, however, the invitation is now open to companies from the industry and food sectors.
